Why a cast iron teapot?
The cast iron teapot can be heated over an open flame, on any type of stove (including induction), oven, fireplace and even grill. Cast iron has an optimal heat distribution which allows the tea to be brewed evenly. Cast iron also stores the heat better. Therefore your tea stays warm longer without teapot and you have longer time to enjoy it in peace.
Why is the teapot enamelled?
Our teapot has a high-quality enamel coating on the inside. On the one hand, this ensures that the teapot does not rust. On the other hand, the enamel coating prevents the teapot from taking on the taste of the tea. This ensures that you can use our tea maker for the preparation of different teas without this tea suddenly tasting of a variety that you prepared earlier in the pot. The taste of the tea remains unaltered with our teapots!
Is the teapot really handmade?
With its timeless design, the teapot is reminiscent of a traditional Japanese teapot as it is known from tea ceremonies in Asia. In fact, our teapots are handmade there as well. After the teapots have been cast in stone moulds, they are carefully beaten out of the mould by hand and re-ground. Afterwards the pots are primed manually and then painted over by hand with the respective colour. Then the colour of the upper layer is partly removed again with a rough sponge in order to give the jug its typical look and to let the primer shine through. Finally, the handle is also handcrafted to avoid damage from machinery. As you can see, our teapots are all individually handmade and are therefore truly unique!
Can I also make loose tea in a teapot?
Of course you can. You will receive a fine pored sieve made of stainless steel for the preparation of loose tea free of charge with this jug from us.
What is so special about the shapes of the teapots?
Our pots are mostly bulbous and wide. This gives the tea's flavours enough space to circulate, and the aromas can best unfold during brewing. In addition, the spout openings are kept small so that little air gets into the container and the tea stays warm for a long time. The teapots therefore have an optimal shape for optimal tea taste.
Care of the teapot
Our teapot is very easy to clean. It must not and must not be put in the dishwasher. Instead, rinse it thoroughly with hot water after use. As you do not need any detergent because of the high-quality enamel coating, there is also no problem with washing-up liquid residues falsifying the pure tea taste. After rinsing with hot water, simply let the jug dry with the lid open. You can dry it from the outside with a soft cloth. This way you will enjoy your teapot for a very long time.
Food certification
At teeblume, the consistently high quality of our products is very important to us. That is why our tea makers are tested intensively and independently in advance. They have SGS certification, which proves that our teapots can be used with food without hesitation.
